X-Ray Technologist - Hourly/Per Diem - Multiple Positions

Job Description The Department of Radiology Diagnostic at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem X‑Ray Technologist/TH Medical Radiographer I. The successful candidate will: Be a licensed radiological technologist required to perform diagnostic imaging including general x‑ray, portables, fluoroscopy and all other applicable diagnostic exams. Be familiar with all diagnostic equipment including portable and fluoroscopic equipment and the operating room. Have the ability to produce high quality images efficiently regardless of volume. Performs exams in accordance with established protocols. Demonstrate the ability to provide assistance to external and internal customers, and provide excellent customer service. Be responsible for patient care while performing imaging, to include accuracy of patient identification. Be able to deal with emergent situations. Maintain principle of ALARA. Have the ability to teach House Staff or other personnel in the technical aspects of imaging equipment. Have prior experience with computerized patient information systems, including Radiology Information Systems and PACS. Complete all exams immediately in RIS and verify on PACS. Burn CD’s and DVD’s when necessary. Have scheduling flexibility as hours may change on as needed basis according to departmental operating needs. Adhere to all SUNY Downstate Medical Center and department policies and procedures, to include principle of behavior. Adhere to hospital/department infection control policies and procedures. Maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients. Adhere to time and attendance policies. Perform other tasks as required.
