The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $48.52-+ $72.78. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.Job SummaryResponsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients within the scope of Occupational Therapy, determining plan of care and setting goals of treatment. May provide oversight to therapy assistants, therapy aides and/or students in following the plan-of-care and treatment of patients. Works collaboratively as a part of a patient care team toward the best outcomes for patients.What You Bring:Evaluates assigned patients and establishes a treatment plan and goals, using data from a variety of sources, such as patient records, interviews, observation and team members.Completes patient treatment according to plan of care and modifies plan to meet patient needs, and updates plan as appropriate.Completes documentation accurately, timely, according to regulatory and state licensure requirements, and within professional standards.Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients. May act as a liaison with nursing, medical and other therapy staffs to facilitate problem solving and coordination of other services and act as an educational resource.May mentor and provide oversight to new caregivers, occupational therapy assistants, and/or therapy aides. May provide clinical instruction and training to students.May recommend and participate in development of new services and programs, quality improvement and monitoring activities.Maintains appropriate clinical records.May work with OT student affiliation programs.May participate in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities.Performs initial evaluation of patient/home and applies criteria to determine if patient is a safe candidate for home care/hospice occupational therapy services.May supervise COTAs.QualificationsBachelor's, Master's or Doctorate Degree Required: Occupational Therapy accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy EducationOne year experience as Occupational Therapist preferred.Home Health experience preferred.CredentialsRequired: Occupational Therapist - WashingtonRequired: Upon Hire Basic Life SupportValid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.Working ConditionsPatient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.Ability to move around area with occasional sitting.Lifting (non-patient)/carrying occasionally up to 25 lbs.Push/Pull: 1-25 lbs. of force occasionally (i.e., moving equipment).Stooping/ bending/ squatting/ kneeling occasionally.Rehabilitation staff working with patients with rehabilitation goals involving bed mobility, transfers and gait may use other appropriate and approved safe techniques and equipment in the course of the rehabilitation process if determined clinically appropriate.Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.Time spent on site in medical/hospital setting.Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.PeaceHealth is committed to the overall wellbeing of our caregivers: physical, emotional, financial, social, and spiritual.
