Work Shift Day (United States of America) Overview The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high‑quality, safe patient care. The clinical environment is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence‑based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values. All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards of the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, the individual upholds the voice of the patient, system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals. Responsibilities Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Performs the Nursing Process (assessment; diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and ensuring individualized care coordinated through effective partnerships. Provides relationship‑based patient‑centered care consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapts service delivery to reflect cultural diversity. Partners with the patient and significant others (as appropriate) using appropriate methods (e.g., bedside shift report; interdisciplinary rounds; just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) to keep them updated and focused on patient goals. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, high‑quality patient care that promotes a professional care delivery model, using diverse inclusion communication methods, timely documentation, and a respectful, inclusive environment. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration through fiscally responsible practice that promotes recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participates and supports performance improvement and research to promote safe, quality patient care, including initiating and/or leading activities, promoting inter/intra‑disciplinary processes, and actively supporting shared governance at all levels. Professional Development and Initiative Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population‑specific education. Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses (and staff or students from all disciplines) to ensure a qualified future workforce and a healthy work environment. Evidence Based Practice and Research Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including value analysis in patient‑care product decision making. Upholds all system and organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health System safety absolutes. Engages in data collection, poses relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence‑based practice, consults experts, and uses appropriate resources. Resources and Support Plans proactively for patient care across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participates in developing protocols and procedures—either when called upon or through self‑initiation—to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., reduced readmission rates, avoidable days, adverse events). Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Required for All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Minimum Education Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduate from an accredited/approved school of nursing (Required) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred) Required Minimum Experience Less than 1 year of completion of an accredited/approved nursing school with requisition clinical hours (Required) Direct patient care experience (Preferred) Required Minimum Skills Registered Nurse (Single State) (Required) RN – Multi‑state Compact (Required) Basic Life Support (Required) BLS – Instructor (Required) BLS – Provisional (Required) Additional Licenses and Certifications Additional Licenses and Certifications (if applicable) #J-18808-Ljbffr Wellstar Health System
