Fire and Safety Equipment Service Technician

Job Description

The Fire Extinguisher/Suppression Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and installation of fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems.

Key Responsibilities

· Inspect, test, and maintain portable fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, and related equipment according to applicable codes and standards.

· Install new fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems in accordance with manufacturer instructions and regulatory requirements.

· Recharge, repair, and replace fire extinguishers and components as needed.

· Document all work performed, including service reports, inspection forms, and compliance records.

· Educate customers on proper usage, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for fire protection equipment.

· Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.

· Maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and equipment necessary for service tasks.

· Stay up-to-date on fire safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
