IT Project Manager (contract-to-hire)

An iMPact Business Group client in the building products industry is seeking to grow their IT PMO and is adding multiple formal Project Managers to the team.


Their IT Organization supports all facets of their business - Manufacturing, Distribution, Transportation, Accounting, Sales, Marketing - as such these roles may be involved in a wide variety of Projects including - Infrastructure, Application Development, ERP systems, Transportation systems, Sales & Marketing, Financial Systems, and the implementation & governance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through the business.

They are seeking formal IT Project Managers who have Waterfall and Agile backgrounds, believe in utilizing the right tool for the right job, and have excellent Customer-Facing skills. Their Project Managers build consensus as much as defining a formal project plan. They also value PM's who are adaptable to ever -changing business conditions and can re-scale a project quickly when business conditions require it.


Typical Duties -

• Collaboratively define project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Create project plans and associated communications
• Regularly communicate project updates - expectations, milestones, and status
• Collaborate / Consult with project stakeholders on a regular basis
• Monitor project status - tracking milestones and deliverables
• Develop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and related presentations
• Guide managing changes in project scope and create contingency plans when needed
• Collaborate with functional and technical project team members, including 3rd party Vendors

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• PMP or CAPM certifications preferred
• 5-10 years of Technology industry experience
• 3-5 years of formal Project Management experience
• Experience with various project management software tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to successfully consult with/partner with - staff at all organizational levels, from the shop floor to the C-Suite
• Ability to effectively communicate via web conferences, phone, email - with customers, stakeholders, co-workers and vendors
• Ability to identify and pursue opportunities for improvement and utilize lessons learned post-project completion
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Strong organization skills and detail oriented
• Team oriented and customer service focused
• Ability to travel in the US, if/when needed (this is not a travel position, but does have the potential for some overnight travel)
