Mechanical & Robotics Maintenance TechnicianThis role leads a team of service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. The position focuses on supporting operations by troubleshooting complex issues, designing practical maintenance solutions, and managing technical projects that keep material handling and pneumatic systems running safely and efficiently.ResponsibilitiesLead service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment.Support the Operations Maintenance team by diagnosing complex mechanical and robotics issues and implementing effective repair solutions.Design and propose solutions for difficult maintenance problems to improve reliability, safety, and performance of equipment.Manage maintenance and repair projects from planning through completion, ensuring timely execution and quality workmanship.Install, maintain, and repair material handling equipment throughout the facility, including conveyors and related systems.Install, maintain, and repair pneumatic systems used in automated packaging and distribution processes.Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, robotics, material handling, and pneumatic equipment to reduce downtime.Collaborate with operations and other technical teams to minimize equipment downtime and support continuous improvement.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and project work clearly and accurately for reference and compliance.Train and mentor other maintenance technicians in best practices, safe work methods, and troubleshooting techniques.Essential SkillsProven experience as a maintenance technician working with automated packaging and distribution equipment.Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment within an industrial or distribution environment.Practical knowledge of pneumatic systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.Ability to lead and guide service technicians in daily maintenance and repair activities.Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues.Experience supporting an Operations Maintenance team in a fast-paced environment.Ability to manage maintenance projects, including planning, coordination, and execution.Capability to read and interpret technical documentation and maintenance instructions.Strong focus on safety and adherence to established maintenance procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with robotics or automated systems in a packaging or distribution setting.Experience in mechanical, industrial, or related technical disciplines.Experience implementing process improvements or reliability enhancements in maintenance operations.Ability to train and mentor junior technicians and share best practices.Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.Comfort working with a variety of tools, equipment, and technologies used in industrial maintenance.Why Work Here?You will join a technically challenging and dynamic environment where your expertise in mechanical, robotics, and material handling systems directly supports smooth and efficient operations. Work is primarily on-site in an industrial setting that requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate work attire suitable for a maintenance and warehouse environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
