The Opportunity We are seeking an Inspector for our Transportation‑Construction Management (T‑CM) Practice in Denver, CO. Key Responsibilities Observe contractor work to determine progress and quality of construction projects. Identify discrepancies, report significant ones to the supervisor, and direct the contractor to correct such discrepancies. Work independently under general supervision, exercising advanced judgment in applying standard methodologies and procedures for complex projects. Perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations. Inspect construction work and conduct field tests; coordinate and manage lower‑level inspectors. Read and interpret contract documents (plans and specifications) to determine if the contractor’s work substantially complies with the contract documents; make and/or check engineering computations. Maintain detailed accurate records of the contractor’s daily operations and significant events affecting work. Perform sampling and field testing of component materials and completed work in accordance with the construction contract documents. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 4 years relevant experience. Prior experience in construction inspection, including exposure to bridge and/or roadway construction inspection, or a Civil Engineering degree with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year. Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions. Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks. Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds. Must have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving record. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in CDOT computer‑based applications. Working knowledge of CDOT Bridge and Roadway Specifications. Experience working with a team and reporting to a supervisor. Flexible schedule—working nights/weekends is a possibility. Compensation The salary range for this position in Denver is $67,000–$85,000 per year, representing the employer’s good‑faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on job‑related skills, experience, internal equity, and geographic location, where applicable. This role may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, an employee assistance program, retirement and financial protection programs (401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability), paid time off (including holidays and paid parental leave), and HSA funding up to $1,200 annually.
