Reporting to the Dean of the College of Engineering, the Chair leads faculty and staff to advance the department’s research, teaching, ABET accreditation, and service missions. Key responsibilities include strategic budget management, faculty recruitment and mentoring, curriculum advancement, and cultivation of corporate, donor, and alumni partnerships. The Chair fosters an environment of research excellence aligned with strategic college clusters while ensuring graduate competitiveness.Primary Function of Organizational UnitNorth Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is a public land-grant, high research activity university enrolling 15,275 students. The College of Engineering, with approximately 2,700 students, offers EACABET-accredited undergraduate programs, 9 Master’s programs, and 6 Doctoral programs. The COE’s 5 core research clusters are Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications, and Complex Systems and Networks. Additional information about the College and the University can be found at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECEN) is one of the largest departments in the College of Engineering, with approximately 500 students enrolled across four degree programs: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, B.S. in Computer Engineering, M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
