About the Opportunity

LHH Recruitment is seeking an experienced Regional Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing communities throughout the Portland metro area. This is an onsite leadership role that requires regular travel to local properties to conduct site visits, support property teams, and ensure operational excellence across the portfolio.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on affordable housing professional who enjoys leading teams, improving property performance, and ensuring compliance while maintaining exceptional resident experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational and financial performance of multiple affordable housing communities.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to on-site Property Managers and community teams.
• Conduct regular site visits throughout the Portland area to ensure compliance, operational consistency, and high property standards.
• Monitor occupancy, leasing activity, resident retention, budgets, and property performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with affordable housing regulations and programs, including LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and other applicable requirements.
• Review and analyze financial reports, operating statements, and budgets to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with property teams to address operational challenges, resident concerns, and staffing needs.
• Support hiring, training, performance management, and professional development of property staff.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute portfolio goals and ensure successful property operations.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, and community partners.

Qualifications

Required

• 3+ years of Regional Portfolio Management experience within affordable housing.
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing programs and funding layers, compliance requirements, and property operations.
• Experience managing, leading, and developing property management teams.
• Experience overseeing multiple properties and managing property performance.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the Portland metro area for site visits.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Preferred

• Professional property management certifications such as CPM, ARM, COS, HCCP, or similar.
• Experience managing large and diverse affordable housing portfolios (such as HUD, RD, etc)

Pay Details: $45.00 to $50.00 per hour
