This position will report directly to the Director, External Reporting and provide meaningful exposure to executive management and to key finance and operations leaders across ITW’s worldwide operations. The role requires a strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines and business units. This position is also viewed as a key developmental role, offering opportunities to strengthen leadership capabilities and progress into larger finance leadership roles over time.Primary responsibilities include:Monitor accounting literature for new reporting requirements that may potentially impact the Company and lead the implementation of new accounting standardsPrepare quarterly accounting and regulatory update presentations for senior management and the Company’s Audit CommitteeWork closely with Investor Relations and various financial reporting teams in the preparation and review of the Company’s external financial communications (SEC filings and disclosures, annual report, earnings releases, communications with the investment community, etc.)Consult with operating and finance personnel at corporate and within ITW’s diversified group of businesses related to accounting questions and the implementation of financial policies and proceduresWork closely with key stakeholders in the development, revision and maintenance of the Company’s Financial Policies & ProceduresAct as a liaison with internal and external auditors on matters involving technical accounting, internal controls, financial policies and SEC reportingOversee various key accounting and reporting areas such as annual impairment testing, lease accounting and preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flowsDirectly manage activities and staff in the execution of department responsibilitiesParticipate in and/or lead various Corporate Finance & Accounting projects to improve the overall efficiency, timeliness and accuracy of financial close processes.Focus on Corporate Finance & Accounting talent management efforts through attraction, development and retention of key talent across the departmentJob Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree specifically in Accounting from an accredited college or university is requiredCPA is required11+ years of experience, including recent experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm, is required.Experience directly managing and developing others is requiredAbility to work 5 days a week in the office at the Glenview, IL campus, with flexibility in hours, is required.Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsCapable of leading large, complex projectsAble to perform in a fast-paced environmentCompensation Information:The compensation package for the role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $180k- $195k annually.
