Health Information Specialist I Location: Winter Park, FL 32792 | Type: Full-time, regular | Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM EST Datavant is a data collaboration platform dedicated to ensuring health data is secure, accessible, and actionable. We provide data solutions for healthcare providers, health plans, researchers, and life sciences companies. The Health Information Specialist will manage medical record requests and support HIPAA compliance in a high-volume environment. Position Highlights Full-time role with defined hours Work at our Winter Park, FL office In a high-volume production environment Processing medical record requests via calls from patients, insurance companies, and attorneys Documenting information across multiple platforms using dual monitors Full benefits: PTO, health, vision, dental insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and tuition assistance Responsibilities Receive and process patient health information requests in accordance with company policies Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information Maintain working knowledge of company and facility software Adhere to the company's code of conduct and policies Report work status, site difficulties, and volume changes to manager Assist with additional duties as required Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosure Manage patient health records, safeguarding them in compliance with HIPAA Prepare new patient charts, gather documents from paper or electronic sources Ensure records are assembled in standard order and are accurate and complete Create digital images of paperwork for electronic medical record storage Respond to internal and external record requests, retrieving and transmitting appropriately Answer inbound and outbound calls Assist with patient walk‑ins and administrative duties (faxes, mail, data entry) Meet productivity expectations set for the site Schedule pick‑ups as needed Pursue other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED Ability to commute between locations as needed Willingness to work overtime during peak seasons Basic computer proficiency Comfortable using phones, fax machines, printers, and general office equipment Professional verbal and written communication skills in English Detail‑oriented and quality focused for accurate medical records Strong data entry skills Can work independently with minimal supervision, responding to changing priorities Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment Bonus Points Experience in a healthcare setting Production/metric‑based work experience In‑person customer service experience Relationship building with on‑site clients and customers Comfortable contributing new ideas, process improvements, and feedback to stakeholders EEO Statement Datavant is committed to a work environment free from job discrimination.
