Role Overview Bask & Lather Co. is seeking a Digital Content Strategist to lead the development of high‑performing content strategies across all digital touchpoints including social media, influencer, website storytelling, retail content, and brand campaigns. This role will define what content the brand creates, why it matters, how it supports the marketing calendar, and how it shows up across channels. The ideal candidate is part creative strategist, part content architect, part culture decoder. This role partners closely with social media, influencer, PR, brand, e‑commerce, creative, and retention teams to ensure cohesive, high‑quality content that drives awareness, engagement, and brand relevance. This role does not own paid media, ad buying, performance budgets, or CAC/ROAS responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Digital Content Strategy Build and lead the digital content strategy for all platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, email, website, and retail channels. Define content pillars, story arcs, and themes that align with the brand’s mission, marketing calendar, launches, and cultural opportunities. Translate brand goals and campaign objectives into actionable content briefs for internal teams and creators. Maintain a forward‑looking quarterly content roadmap to support brand campaigns, product releases, and seasonal moments. Creative Direction and Collaboration Provide creative direction for content shoots, influencer deliverables, campaign assets, and social storytelling. Collaborate with brand, creative, and social teams to ensure all content aligns with brand identity, tone, positioning, and aesthetic standards. Support creation of content briefs for social, influencer, PR, and product launch campaigns. Review draft content and provide strategic feedback prior to Social Media Manager approval. Social Media and Influencer Alignment Guide social media content strategy, ensuring content is optimized for each platform’s algorithms, trends, and audience expectations. Partner with Social Media Managers to identify real‑time trends and integrate them into content plans. Collaborate with influencer and affiliate teams to ensure creator content aligns with campaign goals, storytelling direction, and timing. Contribute to influencer brief development and ensure content needs are clearly outlined. Digital Campaign Strategy Lead content planning for brand campaigns, promotions, collaborations, and product launches. Identify hero creative, supporting assets, messaging direction, and channel‑specific needs for each initiative. Ensure all digital content supports the customer journey, from discovery to engagement to conversion, without owning performance metrics. Consumer, Cultural, and Competitor Insights Monitor cultural shifts, beauty and haircare trends, competitive activity, and creator behavior to inform strategy. Identify growth opportunities and content whitespace the brand can own. Conduct ongoing trend and competitive audits and present insights to leadership. Analytics and Creative Optimization Review social and digital content performance weekly, identifying what is working and what should be improved. Partner with Social Media Managers to optimize creative formats, hooks, CTAs, and storytelling. Provide monthly insights decks with recommendations that guide continuous improvement. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work with PR on content needs for press, storytelling, and media coverage alignment. Partner with e‑commerce to ensure content aligns with landing pages, banners, collections, and product storytelling. Collaborate with retention on content themes for email, SMS, and app messaging. Support events and partnerships by identifying content needs for activations and retail storytelling. Qualifications 4 to 6 years’ experience in digital content strategy, social strategy, creative strategy, or digital marketing. Strong understanding of social platforms, digital content best practices, creator trends, and beauty or CPG landscape. Skilled in building content frameworks, creative briefs, campaign storylines, and multi‑channel concepts. Experience directing content creators, photographers, videographers, and editors. Comfortable analyzing content performance data to derive insights and recommendations. Excellent communication, organization, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
