Charge Nurse (RN) - CVICU - $36-58 per hour

CVICU Charge Nurse (RN) – Team Lead/Charge RN (Valley Park, Missouri) BJC HealthCare is looking for an experienced CVICU Charge Nurse to lead the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. This position includes direct patient care, supervision of nursing staff, and collaboration with the interprofessional team. Responsibilities Under the direction of the manager, plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the unit on the assigned shift. Perform direct patient care as needed and function as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assess, plan, evaluate, and document the nursing process for the unit as needed. Facilitate identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization through discharge and into the ambulatory setting. Critically assess patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establish consults with the interprofessional team as appropriate. Lead the development and implementation of complex individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver. Actively utilize and champion evidence‑based practices (e.g., participate in journal club, facilitate practice change, recommend new standards). Explore opportunities to advance nursing practice (e.g., community health education, ethics advisory committees, adjunct faculty). Analyze gaps in practice standards and provide feedback to peers to enhance safe patient care. Lead evaluation of the patient and family experience and adjust care to improve satisfaction and quality. This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe operation.
