Charge Nurse (RN) - Med Surg - $36-58 per hour

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Med Surg Charge Nurse (RN) to work nights at a 68‑bed inpatient surgical unit in Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri. Overview The unit provides care for post‑surgical patients. The Charge Nurse leads on their shift, coordinating patient care, management of staff, and ensuring quality patient outcomes. Responsibilities Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care throughout hospitalization, at discharge, and into ambulatory care. Critically assesses patient data to proactively mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults with the interprofessional team. Leads development and implementation of complex individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the team and patient/family. Uses evidence‑based practices, participates in journal club, facilitates practice change, and disseminates new knowledge. Explores opportunities to advance nursing practice and participates in community or professional activities. Analyzes gaps in practice standards, provides feedback to peers, and enhances patient safety. Leads evaluation of patient and family experience and adjusts care to improve satisfaction. Minimum Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) license. Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: 2–5 years of nursing experience. Supervisor experience: None required. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Experience: 5–10 years. Benefits Full benefits package starting first day of the month after hire.
