Position Residential Childcare Worker – Weekend Focus Description You must be able to work 12-hour shifts on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The compensation for this position is $20 per hour, depending on education and/or experience. This position requires working two weekend shifts per month, with the possibility of additional evening and night shifts during the week. Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision to residents of the group home in accordance with facility policies. Participate in orientation and ongoing training. Perform daily operations and record keeping. Conduct monthly site and safety inspections. Maintain overall sanitary upkeep of the home. Facilitate scheduled activities with residents. Notify Program Coordinator or On‑Call Staff immediately of any emergencies. Maintain documentation in resident files on care plans and behavior management plans. Conduct monthly fire drills and other required safety drills. Write progress and incident reports as required. Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of experience providing mental health or social services, or a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related fields. Prior experience working with adolescents in a residential or mental health setting preferred. Must be 25 years of age or older. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Current First Aid/CPR certification. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Values working in a multicultural/diverse environment. Computer experience and adequate typing ability preferred. Ability to provide visual and auditory supervision of residents. Maintains appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality. Other Requirements Orientation and Medication Management Training within 30 days of employment. Completion of Behavior Management Training within 30 days of employment. Pass a criminal history check and provide a letter from a physician stating the applicant is medically fit to work with children. Ability to drive an agency vehicle (agency provides insurance coverage). The facility provides a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for children ages 12‑18 who require out‑of‑home placement from the Department of Family and Children Services.
