Residential Counselor

Spaulding Academy & Family Services is seeking a fulltime Residential Counselor to join our supportive and energetic team! This role is to teach daily living skills, community integration, and socialization to students ranging from 4 to 21 years old while having case management responsibilities with specific student groups on the residence. Requirements BS or BA in psychology, sociology, counseling, mental health, special education, or a related field is preferred. Completion of the Residential Child/Youth Care Professional Certification endorsed & sanctioned by Spaulding. Must be 21 years of age. Knowledge and Skills Successful completion of PCM training – must obtain certification as a Practitioner 2 for continued employment; 1 st Aid, CPR, PBIS, medication distribution and the training sequence required by Spaulding for this position. Crisis management skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to teach and train new staff on online duties, willing to engage in open communication with direct supervisors and co-coworkers, role model behavior and work practice for other staff. Weekday Shifts are from 2pm-10pm and Weekend Shifts are from 7am-10pm. Mandatory cottage meetings are Wednesday 12pm-2pm. Case Management and Committee Meetings as scheduled.
