Machinist

PURPOSE: To machine new components and/or repair production equipment components for the manufacturing operations. Running multiple pieces of equipment to make parts to print.JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):A variety of set-ups for standard and prototype machining jobs will be performed.Responsible for reworking and machining of new and spare production parts for various departments.Repairing of maintenance parts as needed.Inspect incoming parts.Order and maintain an inventory of consumable items for various departments.Complete lineup sheet for jobs in process.Reports manufacturing problems to the Group Leader or Foreman.Must have the technical competence to set up and operate a wide variety of shop equipment.BASIC REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED; Additional experience, training or formal education is beneficial.Proficiency in operating all common machining equipment, mills, lathes, grinders, etc.Previous welding industry experience is a plus (Stick & TIG); knowledge of welding is preferred.Must be safety conscious.Ability to read, write, and understand written specifications and procedures.Must have basic computer skills.Ability to design and execute from verbal instructions.Must be a self-starter and have good communication skills.Must possess good organizational skills.Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.Ability to use various measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators etc.) and must own these devices.Must have above average hand dexterity.Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine speeds and feed rates.You should be proficient in:Machine Safety InspectionsMachine Setups for Production Runs #J-18808-Ljbffr
