Location Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118. Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses. Job Summary The Budget Analyst II at the University of West Georgia manages budget and position control operations for assigned areas, ensuring compliance with institutional policies. Key duties include preparing and reconciling budgets, overseeing financial transactions, administering position management systems, developing financial reports and analytical tools, forecasting revenues, and collaborating with departments regarding budget processes. The role also involves conducting financial analyses, training staff on budgeting concepts, and supporting strategic financial planning. Responsibilities 1 -
Oversee Comprehensive Budget and Position Management Operations (40%): Manage all budgetary and position management processes for assigned areas at the University of West Georgia. This includes preparing, approving, and reconciling budget worksheets and transactions, as well as administering position management systems and approving related personnel transactions. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, maintain accuracy in financial system coding, process amendments, address budget discrepancies, and oversee position control functions to support organizational staffing and budget objectives. 2 -
Financial Reporting and Data Analysis (25%): Develop, generate, and maintain financial reports, databases, and analytical tools. Provide expertise in data interpretation, support departmental reporting needs, and guide strategic financial planning through trend analysis and customized reporting solutions. 3 -
Departmental Collaboration and Training (20%): Serve as the primary liaison for departmental budget processes by coordinating information collection, offering training and instructional materials, and delivering presentations on budget-related topics to university personnel. 4 -
Budget Development and Policy Guidance (15%): Assist in creating and monitoring the university¿s annual budget, including projecting revenue, allocating funds, analyzing expenditure patterns, and maintaining waiver analyses. Act as a subject matter expert on UWG and USG budget policies by advising stakeholders, resolving budget errors, and supporting comprehensive financial analysis and contingency planning.
