Responsibilities Take ownership of tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of the teller position. Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the SouthState Bank Service Standards. Know and understand the products and services offered by the Bank, including features, benefits, rules, regulations, price structures, and a simple definition of each service. Identify customer needs and expectations by listening for clues and seek opportunities to expand relationships by making referrals as outlined for this position. Present a neat and professional personal appearance in accordance with bank policy. Assess and effectively manage risks associated with the job function; ensure compliance with banking regulations (including Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act). Develop understanding of customer-facing technology and discuss/enroll customers in self-service options. Perform teller duties including processing transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts; balance transactions daily; service/balance ATMs; and utilize the branch capture system as needed. Maintain a neat and orderly work area and follow policies and procedures to minimize operational errors and maintain proper workflow. Assist in guiding and training new tellers and may provide access to safe deposit boxes as required. Follow branch security and audit procedures and understand the operation of security devices. Qualifications, Education, and Certification Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: Cash handling, sales, and customer service. Previous banking experience preferred. Specific Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills, computer skills, and the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must be able to access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. Work Environment This position is typically in an open lobby area with an individual workstation, inside a climate-controlled facility with access to break and rest rooms during breaks.
