University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus – Neurosurgery Position #: 00846515 – Requisition #: 39539 Job Title Open Rank Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Clinical Practice Job Summary The Department of Neurosurgery seeks a medical neuro‑oncologist at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Clinical Practice level. The role will serve within our Brain Tumor Center and includes teaching, clinical, research, and service responsibilities. The medical neuro‑oncologist works closely with neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, neuropathologists, and neuroradiologists to develop individualized treatment plans while providing access to clinical trials. Support services such as dietician, social work, physical medicine, and neuropsychology are available. Key Responsibilities Clinical duties: Acute and chronic outpatient care of neuro‑oncology patients, including administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, disease‑modifying therapy, and health‑maintenance care. Inpatient consultations for neuro‑oncology patients in the University of Colorado Hospital, with documentation and monitoring for adverse events. Participation in clinical trials with an expectation of completing and maintaining research training. Educational activities: Supervise and train advanced practice providers, medical students, residents, and fellows in clinics and hospital settings. Support and engage in continuous learning and development among nursing staff, pharmacy staff, and other faculty, including presenting lectures to patients and others regarding neurological conditions and treatments. Administrative responsibilities: Data entry into hospital systems, committee work, and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission. Ongoing CME is required. Work Location Onsite – the role is expected to work at one of our community practices in the southern or northern Front Range area.
