Program Director

Summary Position Type: Full‑time, exempt, salaried supervisor role. Scope of Role: Responsible for managing the services delivered to a designated program or set of programs, and the operation of programs. Key Responsibilities: Oversee organization and implementation of direct supports, person‑centered planning, health care, advocacy, stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, staffing, training, financial management, and maintenance of the physical environment. Essential Job Functions Staff Management Recruitment & Hiring: Participate in hiring events and partner with Talent Acquisition to identify hiring needs for Direct Support Professionals and Program Supervisors. Meetings & Training: Organize and implement on‑site orientation and training; conduct monthly staff meetings; attend regional meetings as needed. Employee Scheduling: Design and monitor schedules to ensure all shifts are covered; minimize overtime. Performance Evaluation: Conduct rotating performance snapshots and evaluations; review and approve Direct Support Professional and other staff member’s evaluations. Coaching, Discipline and Termination: Coach employees, correct or direct behavior; recommend and participate in decisions regarding discipline and termination with Human Resources. Employee Safety: Responsible for employee safety and workers’ compensation programs; assist in returning employees to work and train employees about safety. Program Management Program Planning: Act as the QIDP when required, write and approve individual program plans, and train staff in implementation. Records: Audit individual records and program documentation for accuracy and completion. Program Team Meetings: Conduct progress meetings and reviews; provide and approve written progress reviews. Compliance: Oversee licensing compliance, maintain accurate documentation, and manage individual rights implementation. Management of Individuals’ Assets: Oversee management of individuals’ funds and property; audit financial accounts. Program Stakeholder Relations: Maintain professional relations with individuals, families, case managers, and other stakeholders; provide regular communication. Government Relations: Engage in government and community relations; participate in advocacy efforts. Incidents: Implement proactive strategies to reduce serious incidents, review incidents, and ensure timely reporting. Health Care Appointments: Oversee coordination of health care appointments and monitor attendance. Medications: Oversee medication administration system, document accuracy, and ensure employee certification. Medical Supplies and Equipment: Approve purchases and ensure employee training. Dietary Planning: Monitor food service, adhere to dietary plans, and ensure employee certification in meal preparation. Financial Management Purchasing: Approve purchase of food, supplies, and equipment; review monthly invoices. Billing and Utilization: Oversee census and attendance documentation for accurate billing and compliance. Staffing: Monitor staffing hours for budgetary compliance. Growth: Support implementation of growth initiatives within the program. Census Management Census Performance: Monitor census performance and report potential disruptions. Referrals: Review referrals for fit, identify barriers, and coordinate site visits. Placements: Coordinate preparations for placements, including staffing, funding, and safety requirements. Maintenance Vehicles: Ensure vehicles are maintained and provide training for safe operation. Housekeeping: Monitor and implement strategies for neat, clean, and safe program environments. Maintenance and Repair: Oversee environmental safety program and preventive maintenance schedules. Other Duties Perform other duties as required, including backfilling roles. Be available on‑call to support staff and provide coverage for shifts. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage Direct Support Professionals, Program Supervisors, and other staff; complete evaluations, orientation, and training. Make decisions on hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and resolve employee problems. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience: Two to three years of related experience in the Human Services Industry preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute. Licenses & Certifications: Current driver’s license, car registration and auto insurance if driving on behalf of the Company. Licensure(s) as required by state. Medication Management Certificate upon completion of Company training. Mandatory Reporter Certificate upon completion of Company training. Other state‑required training or certification. AZ Behavioral Health programs must meet BHT requirements. Work Environment Program Director works at the program location(s) they oversee. Oversee services or supports in residential, vocational, or in‑home settings. Other Requirements Travel as needed. Physical Requirements Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
