Project Manager - Water Business

Job Overview Black & Veatch is a leading employee‑owned global engineering, procurement, consulting and construction company, recognized for sustainable infrastructure and water & wastewater civil design. The Project Manager role is a high‑profile leadership position within the Water / Wastewater business, serving on the Washington D.C. collaborative team and responsible for managing the successful delivery of multi‑million‑dollar water infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Prospect identification, proposal development, proposal preparation, client presentations, project budgeting and contracting for successful opportunities. Accountable for new business objectives and overall project performance. External focus: interact with assigned clients, participate in client activities and promote Black & Veatch through client and community activities. Support development of the overall market business plan, market strategies and client engagement strategies; leverage other Black & Veatch technical and management resources to advance market footprint. Oversight of engineering manager(s). Development of project performance goals and accountability for implementation. Active involvement with internal project team and owner project representatives on project activities. Perform or assist with the performance and commercial management of projects, including budgeting, invoicing, payments, and lead project performance reviews. Team development, mentoring and coaching on performance improvement. Recommendations for training and promotion of assigned professionals and identification of new candidates to expand the team. Preferred Qualifications 15+ years of active water/wastewater experience with demonstrated leadership in the DC market. Professional Engineering License and Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline. Understanding of budgets and financial metrics. Contract negotiation skill, including knowledge of terms, risks, pricing and payment terms. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
