Machinist, Wood River Refinery

Job Overview Machinist responsible for preventive maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. Duties include fabrication of parts, installation, adjustment, and alignment of new or repaired equipment, rebuilds, repairs, overhauls, and maintenance of rotating and non‑rotating equipment throughout the Phillips 66 Wood River Refinery. Responsibilities Actively participate in the safety process Prepare a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to the start of a job Review work before starting and ensure material, resources, information and tools are on hand to achieve high levels of craft productivity Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, reports and permits to reflect activities Plan and troubleshoot maintenance repairs to ensure work is completed safely, environmentally compliant, timely and cost‑effective Execute and complete daily maintenance work orders proficiently Communicate effectively with Operations and other departments to assure understanding of job scope, priority and timing for repairs Set up the work site with barriers, signs, tape or flags Work overtime, weekends, holidays and varied shifts when required Work inside and outside where exposed to weather elements Qualifications – Required Legally authorized to work in the posting country Minimum age of 18 years High School Diploma or GED equivalent Possession of a valid driver’s license Five or more years of industrial machinist experience Experience with API and ANSI pumps, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, steam turbines and general shop machinery Current possession of or ability to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card prior to employment start date Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to: Climb ladders and/or stairs Climb up to 250 feet within a caged ladder Lift up to 50 pounds Bend, kneel, knee‑stand and squat up to 30 minutes at a time Work overtime, including emergency callouts, weekends, holidays and varied shifts when required Perform work below grade (sumps), at heights and in confined spaces Work in all weather conditions Perform work in occasionally hazardous conditions requiring personal protective equipment such as hard‑hat, safety glasses, eye protection, goggles, fire‑retardant clothing, steel‑toed boots, gloves, gas monitor and fall protection Maintain a clean face to ensure a respirator/face mask seals properly Preferred Qualifications Completion of trade school in precision machine technology Two or more years of experience working in a refinery or similar manufacturing setting as a machinist Intermediate or greater proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or SAP applications Compensation and Start Date Pay rate: $53.63 per hour (determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement). Anticipated start date: August 2026. Relocation assistance not available.
