PRN Pharmacy Technician

Job Details Location: Onsite, Clarinda, Iowa Position: PRN Pharmacy Technician (Part time) Responsibilities Create patient profiles in the pharmacy information system. Enter prescription plan information for processing and adjudication. Enter new patient prescription information into the pharmacy system. Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues by communicating with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists. Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the ambulatory pharmacy. Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification. Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review and purchase. Submit, receive, and place inventory in stock. Answer inbound telephone calls and triage them appropriately. Assist with reviewing and handling adjudicated prescription claims to ensure appropriate reimbursement, co‑pay, and related financials, and follow up when needed. Assist the pharmacist by providing required information for therapeutic consults with patients. Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager companies to resolve plan and patient‑specific adjudication issues. Education and Experience Minimum two (2) years of directly related, progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience. Bachelor's degree program preferred. Pharmacy technician certification from a national technical certification organization, such as the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), is required. State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements. Skills and Knowledge Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to resolve patient issues quickly and creatively to improve customer satisfaction. Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail. Good analytical skills.
