Used Inventory ManagerDick Hannah Acura of Portland is looking for a Used Inventory Manager to take ownership over the acquisition, valuation, and disposition of our pre-owned vehicle inventory. This position will be responsible for maintaining the right used inventory mix for the dealership by purchasing vehicles through auctions and other sources, monitoring market conditions, managing wholesale disposition, and providing inventory oversight for our Buy Center operations. The ideal candidate has strong used-vehicle market knowledge, understands how to identify vehicles that will retail well in our market, and is comfortable making buying and selling decisions based on market data, inventory needs, and profitability.Used Inventory Manager Compensation and Benefits:Used Inventory Manager Competitive Salary: $1,500 monthly base salary plus 1.0% commission of total Used Car and Buy Center department gross. This position will also receive a $50 bonus for every used vehicle retailed by the Sales Department. Options include medical, dental, vision, Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability, alongside a robust 401(k) plan for retirement planning.Paid Holidays: Hannah Motor Company offers at least 2 paid holidays per year to the Used Inventory Manager subject to completion of the introductory period and other eligibility requirements as per company policy.Used Inventory Manager Responsibilities:Work with the General Manager to establish used vehicle inventory needs, purchasing targets, and inventory mix.Attends approved auctions and purchases vehicles within established guidelines.Sources vehicles through auctions, wholesalers, the Buy Center, and other approved acquisition channels.Determines ACVs on Buy Center purchases and other used vehicle acquisitions.Reviews market data, sales history, inventory age, customer demand, and local trends to make informed purchasing decisions.Maintains a strong understanding of current used vehicle values and market conditions.Manages the wholesale disposition of aged, undesirable, or non-retail inventory to maximize profitability and inventory turn.Ensures all required documentation for vehicle purchases is completed accurately and submitted to the appropriate departments in a timely manner.Ensures acquired vehicles are entered into the appropriate inventory and UVI tracking processes.Develops and maintains outside relationships with wholesalers, retailers, auction representatives, and other vehicle acquisition sources.Tracks the performance of purchased inventory and reviews retail and wholesale results to improve future buying decisions.Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company requirements related to used vehicle purchasing and disposition.Attends management meetings as requested.Test drives vehicles as needed and must remain insurable under company insurance requirements.Used Inventory Manager Qualifications:Strong understanding of used vehicle values and automotive market conditions.Previous experience buying used vehicles, managing used inventory, working as an automotive buyer, or similar automotive experience preferred.Auction purchasing experience preferred.Ability to analyze market data and make financially sound inventory decisions.Ability to evaluate vehicle condition, history, marketability, and appropriate ACV.Strong organization skills and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to learn and effectively use automotive inventory, appraisal, auction, and dealership management systems.Ability to manage multiple vehicles and priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment.At Dick Hannah Dealerships, our Core Values are summed up in four words: Family, Integrity, Respect and Purpose.
