Shipping Lead

Position: Shipping Lead Status: Full-time - Non-Exempt Department: Order Fulfillment Reports To: Hatchery Manager Job Summary Under the direct supervision of the Hatchery Manager the Shipping Lead performs all the duties necessary to ensure all processes related to shipping orders are done in the proper manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Stage skids for chick boxes per delivery schedule for USPS Load chicks onto skids per delivery schedule for USPS Strap skids and ensure they are loaded on the correct truck per USPS schedule Assist in OF Postal station Box label placement Strapping Packing chicks Assist as needed in other Hatchery areas on non-USPS days Assist with loading of trucks for commercial deliveries Assist with filter and truck washing on non-hatch days Coordinate commercial deliveries with Logistics Supervisor and load trucks per schedule Assist as needed to gather supplies for egg pick ups Coordinate with OF/Logistics Supervisor to unload fowl delivered Operate CMV's as needed Job Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiency Knowledge of reading and writing the English language Ability to read, analyze, and interpret important instructions, guidelines, and/or communications and respond accordingly Must be willing to handle live poultry Competencies Ethical conduct Customer servitude Tenacity Strong computer skills High level of confidentiality Problem solving/analysis Ability to adapt to change Ability to work well with others Great organization skills Able to successfully meet deadlines Strong communication skills Motivated and self-directed Able to prioritize and multi-task Effective in a team environment Travel Requirements Some travel may be required, less than 10% Physical Demands Requires the ability to tolerate unpleasant odors associated with eggs and poultry of various quality Normal corrective vision range, ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols Frequently required to sit, walk, talk, hear, bend, reach, stand, stoop, crawl, crouch, push, pull, twist, turn, balance, climb, and stretch Requires the ability to perform physical labor requiring continual use of motor skills and manual dexterity Requires the ability to work around equipment that generates noise, vibration, and heat This position may require heavy lifting, over 60 lbs.
