You will build and maintain the pipelines that bring third-party data sources into our underwriting, claims, and business intelligence workflows, working alongside an established data engineer.What you will do:Build and maintain batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines that feed a cloud data warehouseDevelop, schedule, and monitor cloud data jobs, diagnosing failures and tuning for cost and performanceWrite idempotent load logic that handles reprocessing and backfills without creating duplicate dataIntegrate external data providers and APIs with authentication, error handling, and retriesImplement data quality checks, validation, and alerting to catch pipeline issues earlyManage and deploy pipelines using infrastructure-as-code and CI/CDSupport data migrations and service updates with minimal downtimeDeliver clean, analytics, model-ready datasets for data scientists and analystsWhat you will bring to C&F:1-5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related software/data roleBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent experienceStrong programming skills in Python and SQLFamiliarity with ETL/ELT concepts and building data pipelinesExperience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS preferred)Familiarity with REST APIs and integrating external data sourcesStrong attention to data quality and reliabilityAbility to communicate clearly with both technical and business audiencesDesired skills (nice to have):Hands-on experience with AWS data services such as Glue, Lambda, and S3Experience loading and modeling data in a cloud data warehouse (e.g. Snowflake)Experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Apache SparkExperience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or KinesisExperience with infrastructure-as-code (CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation) and monitoring with CloudWatchKnowledge of geospatial analysisFamiliarity with zero-downtime deployment patterns such as blue-green deploymentsInterest in insurance, underwriting, or claims#LI-MS#LI-REMOTEWhat C&F will bring to youCompetitive compensation packageGenerous 401K employer matchEmployee Stock Purchase plan with employer matchingGenerous Paid Time OffExcellent benefits that go beyond health, dental & vision. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $71,600 to a maximum of $105,000. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range.
