Cost Account
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Cost Account to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $90,000 to $130,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support inventory and cost related tasks during the monthly close and ensure information is recorded accurately.
- Prepare reconciliations between sub ledgers and the general ledger and maintain schedules needed for review.
- Maintain standard cost information in the system and update rates when needed.
- Review inventory activity, work in process balances, and cost of goods information to identify trends or issues.
- Assist with physical counts, reconciliations, and process reviews that support audit and operational needs.
Requirements:
- Ability to analyze cost variances and understand the drivers behind changes in pricing or absorption.
- Skill in working with reports, templates, and reconciliation tools and improving them over time.
- Strong communication when working with operations and supply chain teams to validate data and costing inputs.
- Comfort providing ad hoc analysis or supporting system related improvements for cost reporting.
- Capacity to document procedures and recommend improvements to costing and inventory workflows.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related study.
- 2-5+ years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance.
- A strong understanding of inventory accounting concepts and cost of goods within an ERP environment.
- Advanced ability in Excel for modeling, reconciliations, and analysis.
- Previous experience working with manual processes or incomplete data and solving issues with accuracy.
