DSV is looking for a Carrier Sales Representative, Cloud Freight Operations to source and secure carrier capacity and actively manage the movement of high-risk, high-value (HRHV) freight supporting cloud computing customers. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys the pace of freight brokerage, knows how to build strong carrier relationships, and wants to stay involved from the moment a load is covered through final delivery.

You’ll work directly with carriers and drivers to source capacity, negotiate rates, dispatch freight, track active shipments, and respond to issues as they happen , while partnering closely with Operational Account Managers and internal teams to keep freight moving safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer-specific service and security requirements.

And this role is about more than finding a truck. You’ll build and develop a reliable carrier network, monitor market conditions and capacity trends, provide real-time pricing and market intelligence, and find transportation solutions that balance service, security, capacity, and cost.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate with, and secure qualified transportation carriers and drivers to cover available freight in a cost-effective and service-focused manner.
• Dispatch assigned shipments and communicate complete and accurate load information, including pickup and delivery requirements, appointment times, routing instructions, customer-specific requirements, and applicable handling or security requirements.
• Confirm carrier and driver readiness prior to dispatch, including equipment availability, pickup expectations, required documentation, and other shipment-specific requirements.
• Maintain direct and regular communication with carriers and drivers throughout the shipment lifecycle from dispatch through final delivery.
• Monitor dispatched loads to confirm timely arrival for pickup, successful loading, in-transit progress, delivery status, and completion of required shipment milestones.
• Track and trace active shipments and maintain accurate, real-time shipment status information within the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other required systems.
• Proactively contact carriers and drivers to obtain shipment updates rather than relying solely on automated tracking or status notifications.
• Identify potential delays, missed appointments, route deviations, communication gaps, service failures, or other shipment exceptions and take appropriate action to support successful delivery.
• Coordinate with carriers, drivers, Operational Account Managers, and other internal teams to resolve shipment issues, adjust plans, and communicate changes as they occur.
• Escalate significant service, security, capacity, or operational concerns in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure carriers and drivers understand and comply with applicable DSV, customer, operational, and shipment-specific requirements for HRHV freight.
• Collect, review, and maintain required carrier and shipment documentation to support shipment completion, billing, and operational requirements.
• Verify shipment completion and required documentation before closing loads within the TMS.
• Develop and maintain strong carrier and driver relationships to improve capacity availability, communication, service reliability, and overall performance.
• Negotiate carrier rates based on lane requirements, market conditions, capacity availability, service expectations, and established pricing guidelines.
• Partner closely with Operational Account Managers to understand shipment requirements, customer expectations, pricing parameters, and service needs.
• Provide carrier pricing, capacity information, and market intelligence to Operational Account Managers to support customer pricing and transportation decisions.
• Identify transportation solutions that balance service, security, capacity, and cost while supporting customer and business requirements.
• Generate new carrier leads and identify opportunities to expand DSV's available carrier network and capacity.
• Support the onboarding and development of qualified carrier partners in accordance with established DSV processes and requirements.
• Monitor transportation market conditions, capacity availability, rate trends, seasonal fluctuations, and other factors affecting carrier pricing and service.
• Maintain accurate carrier, driver, pricing, shipment, dispatch, and operational information within the TMS and other required systems.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships across departments, business units, carriers, drivers, vendors, and other external business partners.
• Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive customer, shipment, carrier, driver, pricing, and business information.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and project work as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, dispatch, carrier sales, or a related field required; 3 or more years preferred.
• Experience with freight dispatch, load coordination, carrier sales, or brokerage operations preferred.
• Experience with high-value, high-risk, time-sensitive, or other specialized freight preferred.
• Experience with carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, shipment tracking, and transportation execution preferred.
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) required.
• Knowledge of transportation operations, dispatch processes, carrier requirements, and industry practices.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and other standard business applications.
• Ability to effectively use Transportation Management Systems, shipment tracking platforms, and other transportation technology.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt quickly to changing capacity, shipment, customer, and operational needs.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operational Account Managers and other internal teams.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and work at a computer for extended periods; frequently use a keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other standard office equipment; and communicate extensively with carriers, drivers, and internal business partners by phone and through electronic means. The employee is also regularly required to stand and walk throughout the office to meet and collaborate with employees, departments, and other business partners. The position may require occasional bending, reaching, and lifting or moving items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment

This position is primarily performed in a professional office environment and requires regular, in-person attendance at the assigned DSV location. The role requires extensive use of computers, phones, email, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), shipment tracking technology, and other business applications throughout the workday. The employee will regularly communicate with carriers and drivers while collaborating with Operational Account Managers, employees, leaders, other departments, and business units to coordinate and manage active freight. The position requires the ability to move throughout the office as needed to collaborate with other teams and support day-to-day brokerage and dispatch operations. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve multiple active shipments, frequent phone and electronic communication, competing priorities, frequent interruptions, time-sensitive capacity needs, shipment exceptions, rate negotiations, and changing operational requirements. The noise level is generally consistent with a professional office environment and may vary based on surrounding business activity.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 Annual. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
