Shipping CoordinatorJob Summary: The Shipping Coordinator will ship items in the system and, when necessary, assist in the Warehouse. Responsibilities:Replaces damaged items and shortages or obtains credit by informing shipper and transporter of damage or shortage; returning damaged items; requesting new items or credit for shortages.Prepares shipments by assembling, packing, protecting, and labeling containers.Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate, and time of shipment.Ships items by verifying identifying information and quantity and condition of items; loading and protecting items.Documents items shipped by recording identifying information of items and transport information.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Generate freight quotes for sales team.Verifies quantities shipped versus quantities on sales orders.Assembles shipping packet to include packing list, bill of lading, and labels to ensure freight arrives at its destination.Performs other clerical duties, as necessary.Required Skills & Capabilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsCustomer service skills that display empathy for both internal and external customersExcellent organizational skills with emphasis and attention to detailThorough understanding of Warehouse procedures and policiesAbility to work independently and handle multiple projects2+ years of logistics experienceProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwarePhysical Requirements:Capable of accessing all areas of the facilityMust be able to access a variety of spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.Must be able to work in cold and hot temperatures in the Warehouse.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Gordon, Inc. was founded in Shreveport, Louisiana, 1964.
