Enhance processes and mentor a skilled accounting team.Job DescriptionAccounting Manager OverviewThe Accounting Manager oversees financial records and ensures compliance with GAAP standards.Responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and complex financial reports.Supports the development and administration of fiscal and accounting programs.Provides leadership and training to accounting staff on principles and practices.Manages annual financial audits and tax return preparations.Collaborates with finance executives to set goals and improve processes.Ensures accurate financial data presentation and system functionality.Acts as a liaison with external auditors and financial agencies.Contributes to policy development and budget administration.Accounting Manager Key Responsibilities & DutiesOversee month-end close processes and ensure proper application of GAAP.Prepare and review financial reports, including board analysis and tax returns.Monitor general ledger systems for accuracy and implement corrections.Collaborate with public accounting firms and auditing personnel.Assist in setting short- and long-term financial goals and strategies.Develop and administer departmental budgets and policies.Provide administrative direction and supervision for efficient operations.Train, evaluate, and manage accounting staff performance.Identify and implement process improvements for financial operations.Accounting Manager Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.Minimum of six years of corporate accounting experience.In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.Proficiency in general ledger software, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.Strong interpersonal and managerial skills with supervisory experience.Experience in healthcare reimbursement and non-profit tax preparation is advantageous.Ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues effectively.Knowledge of cost report preparation and financial audits.
