Position Description

Job Summary:

The Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations in an industrial setting by ensuring efficient workflow, excellent customer service, and achievement of sales and operational goals. This role combines leadership, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day shop operations, including opening/closing procedures and workflow coordination.
  • Supervise, train, and schedule shop staff to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
  • Implement and enforce company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and staff performance for management review.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, or service providers as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiency
Position Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Qualified Plant Production Manager candidates will be and will have the following:
  • BA/BS Business / Management / Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of leadership experience and people management experience in a service related or industrial business.
  • Proficient with computers including Excel. Ability to learn and become proficient in accounting software programs.
  • Possess or develop an understanding of the crane design, build and installation process.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings.
