Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Position Summary: Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities of nuclear medicineat a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent withestablished policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiringgeneral supervision. Responsibilities : Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclearmedicine imaging. Obtains patient history,explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns tofoster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needsof individual patients are met. Operates and maintains all assigned nuclearscanning imaging equipment to ensure it works properly. Performs diagnostic studies including measuringand preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified bodyareas to obtain diagnostic information that correctly captures the imagesrequested by a physician. Properly identifies, preparesand/or administers medications/substances that are within thetechnologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independentpractitioner. Qualifications: Required: Graduationfrom an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine. Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the NuclearMedicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Current BLS certification.
