We are seeking an experienced Bar Operator / General Manager for a growing tavern in Brooklyn.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience running bar operations and understands how to build sales, control costs, develop a team, and create a strong neighborhood following.

This position is best suited for someone who has previously managed or operated a successful bar, tavern, restaurant, or nightlife concept and is comfortable taking ownership of the operation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day bar operations
• Hire, train, schedule, and manage staff
• Manage beer, wine, and liquor inventory
• Control beverage cost, labor cost, waste, and shrinkage
• Maintain strong cash-handling and closing procedures
• Manage vendors and purchasing
• Develop promotions, events, sports programming, DJs, live music, and other traffic-driving opportunities
• Improve guest experience and build repeat business
• Work closely with ownership on sales growth and profitability
• Maintain compliance with alcohol-service and ID requirements
• Provide weekly reporting on sales, labor, inventory, and operational performance

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant management or operating experience
• Strong knowledge of bar operations and beverage cost control
• Proven leadership and staff-management experience
• Understanding of labor management and scheduling
• Experience growing sales and developing customer traffic
• Strong organizational and financial skills
• Available to work evenings and weekends as needed

Experience opening, repositioning, or growing a bar operation is highly preferred.
