Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller Kern County l On-site Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join their growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of budgeting and financial reporting, and experience overseeing key accounting functions including accounts payable and payroll. Compensation & Benefits * $120,000 - $140,000 annual salary * Comprehensive benefits package * Stable and growing organization * Career advancement opportunities * High visibility within the accounting and finance team Key Responsibilities * Assist with month-end and year-end close processes * Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity * Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis * Manage and oversee accounts payable and payroll functions * Review payroll allocations and related accounting entries * Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting * Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies * Partner with leadership on process improvements and special projects * Support audit requests and other accounting initiatives Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * 5+ years of progressive accounting experience * Strong corporate accounting background preferred * Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting #LI-AC4 #INJUN2026
