Neonatology Physician

Works collaboratively with patients and obstetricians to direct medical care for patients with acute and chronic health problems that may place them at high risk for maternal, fetal, or other pregnancy complications. The Physician will provide consultative inpatient care for women who need to be hospitalized during pregnancy. Physicians will work with obstetricians who request transport of patients to our tertiary care facilities. They will participate in Maternal-Fetal Medicine education and teaching programs, and assist in the review of the quality, adequacy and appropriateness of services within the department.

• Maintains established policies and procedures, objectives, quality assessment, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
• Identifies patient and/or provider needs and develops quality programs to meet those needs. Ensures delivery of quality services for patients.
• Teaches residents and medical students.
• Provides clinical supervision to appropriate physician and non-physician staff within the department.
• Participates on appropriate committees and attends and/or conducts meetings as required.
• Consults with resident staff and/or Hospital staff physicians as needed.
• Provides direct patient care services.
• Participates in research and other scholarly activities.
• Assists in the recruitment of house staff.
• Provides fetal genetic screening, testing, and performing diagnostic procedures to identify fetal abnormalities, providing information about the long-term outlook for children.

• Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested.
• Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.
• Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to the reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
• Provides outstanding service to all patients; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

• Completion of an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency. Upon Hire Required and
• Completion of a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship. Upon Hire Required and
