Sr. Accountant

DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations in Houston, Texas. This role will oversee critical close activities, maintain the integrity of financial records, and help ensure timely and accurate reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on expertise in reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and general ledger management within a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:• Lead monthly close tasks by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping deliver accurate financial results within established deadlines.• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity to ensure transactions are properly recorded and supported.• Prepare and post journal entries with clear documentation and appropriate alignment to accounting standards and company policies.• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.• Complete bank reconciliations by matching cash activity, identifying discrepancies, and following through on corrections as needed.• Review financial data for accuracy and consistency, escalating unusual trends or issues that may affect reporting.• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather supporting information and improve the efficiency of accounting workflows.Requirements• 3+ years of accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close activities.• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and the preparation of journal entries.• Demonstrated experience completing account reconciliations and researching discrepancies.• Hands-on background performing bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes.• Strong analytical skills with careful attention to detail and organization.• Ability to manage deadlines effectively and work independently in a fast-moving environment.Job typePerm
