Senior Associate/Of Counsel - Private Client (Chicago)

Taft is looking for a team-oriented experienced attorney to join our Private Client group in the Chicago office. Taft is seeking an attorney with at least 6+ years of experience to join our Private Client practice group, with a strong focus on estate administration and probate matters. The ideal candidate has significant experience assisting executors and administrators, guiding them through every stage of settling an estate and administering trusts. Substantial experience drafting and preparing probate court filings, collecting and valuing estate assets, advising executors on paying creditors and taxes, drafting deeds and final accountings, and overseeing the distribution of estate assets to beneficiaries and trusts is essential. This role will involve close collaboration with senior partners, reviewing and refining administration documents and court filings, advising clients on trust administration matters, providing advice involving probate or trust litigation, and, over time, taking the lead on managing complex estate matters. Excellent academic and professional credentials, strong analytical ability, drafting proficiency, and clear, practical communication skills are required.
