Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time Community Based Instructor 4 for The Child and Family Research Center. **This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. This position is responsible for recruiting, training, and monitoring family child care providers who participate in the Family Care Contract Network. The role includes supporting providers in developing program improvement plans using the Family Day Care Rating Scale and the Program Administration Scale for Family Day Care, as well as assessing satisfaction among both providers and the families who access their services. The position also involves initiating and managing required paperwork for provider bonuses. Additionally, the role supports UNR students, staff, and faculty by helping them identify quality child care options through access to community resources and information. The Community Based Instructor 4 participates in community groups focused on early childhood education and care issues and maintains the Campus Child Care Connection office, including program materials, while supervising a student office assistant.

Required Qualifications

• This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and four (4) years of relevant work experience in areas such as agriculture, horticulture, community development, health and nutrition, human and family development, and natural resources in urban and rural areas; OR
• An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above

A valid Class "C" Nevada driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 29

In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
