Payroll & HR Administrator (Temp-to-Hire)
$20-$24 per hour (Based on Experience)
Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Immediate Opening | Temp-to-Hire Opportunity Join a Team Where Accuracy and People Matter We are seeking an experienced Payroll & HR Administrator to join our team in Broussard, LA. This is an immediate, temp-to-hire opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the importance of payroll accuracy, confidentiality, and employee support. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of payroll experience and be comfortable assisting with a variety of Human Resources administrative functions. Responsibilities Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule
- Calculate employee hours, wages, salary payments, and deductions
- Prepare and input payroll journal entries into accounting software
- Monitor employee work locations and ensure labor costs are coded correctly
- Calculate and post 401(k) contributions and company matches
- Process garnishments and remit payments to appropriate agencies
- Manage insurance deductions and effective dates
- Research employee time records and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Prepare payroll-related reports including earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages
- Maintain payroll records and employee status changes
- Provide earnings statements and payroll information as requested
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and employee information
- Review and maintain payroll-related balance sheet transactions
- Assist with employee onboarding and personnel documentation
- Maintain employee records and HR files
- Support HR department initiatives and administrative functions
- Assist with employee communications and recordkeeping as directed
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience required
- Experience with payroll software and accounting systems
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, deductions, garnishments, and benefits administration
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- HR administrative experience preferred
- Competitive pay: $20-$24 per hour
