Details Work in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), a 4-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical conditions requiring critical care Provide post-operative recovery care and complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring Also support the Cardiac Surgical Unit (CSU), an 8-bed stepdown unit for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery Both units are supported by a dedicated cardiovascular educator Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Every other weekend required Every holiday required Willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed Accepts 36 or 48 hours per week Uses Meditech EMR Requirements Active RN license for the State of Alabama or compact license required (no temporary licenses accepted) Associate degree in nursing required Current AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required Current AHA NIH Stroke Scale certification required AHA PALS certification preferred if working in a pediatric unit 2 years of recent experience required, including 1 year of recent experience within the CVICU specialty Additional Information Deliver a patient-centered approach to care focused on making the patient experience pleasant, comfortable, safe, and secure Team is dedicated to high standards of professional competency in critical care Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same pay rate with no mile radius restrictions All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site test in addition to an online pre-test Virtual orientation includes competency-based training modules Solid navy scrub color dress code required American Traveler Job ID P-742209.
