CNC Fabrication Machine Operator (Steel Processing)

Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Pay: Starting at $24/hour (higher based on experience) Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Overview We are hiring a skilled CNC Machine Operator to support steel fabrication and material processing operations. This role focuses on operating automated fabrication equipment, producing accurate components, and maintaining quality and safety standards in a production environment. Candidates should have hands‑on experience with CNC cutting or processing machinery such as plasma tables, saws, or drill lines. Experience with material handling systems and overhead cranes is a strong advantage. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC fabrication machinery based on work orders Adjust machine settings to optimize accuracy and production efficiency Review material specifications and measurements prior to processing Select proper materials using drawings and job requirements Mark and track materials throughout the production process Inspect finished components to ensure quality standards are met Maintain basic production records and material logs Perform routine equipment checks and assist with minor troubleshooting Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area Move materials using manual handling and lifting equipment Qualifications Experience operating CNC fabrication equipment (plasma, saw, drill, or similar) Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings preferred Ability to read a tape measure accurately (to 1/16 inch) Basic math and measurement skills Experience with overhead cranes or material handling equipment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly Comfortable standing for extended periods Willingness to work in indoor industrial conditions (varied temperatures) Experience with fabrication software (e.g., Tekla PowerFab) is a plus Equipment Experience (Preferred) CNC plasma cutting machines Automated saw and drill systems Angle or beam processing equipment Structural steel CNC production lines What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Opportunity to transition into a permanent role Consistent work in a growing production environment Exposure to modern fabrication technology #J-18808-Ljbffr Qualdoc
