Ultrasound Technologist

Location & Pay Altru Hospital, Devils Lake, 1031 7th Street Northeast, Devils Lake, ND 58301. Pay Range: $33.80 - $50.69. Summary The Ultrasound Technologist ensures a written physician order is received prior to an exam, collects pertinent information, reviews exams on Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for quality and completeness, completes paperwork, and distributes exams for interpretation. The technologist efficiently performs all tasks within their designated room while demonstrating regard for patient safety and comfort. Essential Job Functions Performs general or vascular ultrasound exams. Ensures a written physician order is received prior to the ultrasound procedure and collects required information. Reviews exams on PACS, checking for quality and completeness. Completes proper paperwork and distributes exams for interpretation. Performs all tasks efficiently within the designated room, including cleaning and stocking the room, cleaning the machine and filter, and deleting exams from the machine daily. Demonstrates regard for patients’ safety and comfort during transportation, immobilization, and positioning. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet departmental/organizational needs. Certifications & Licensure Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT). North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners certification prior to start date. American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within 24 months of start date. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of start date. Work Experience Preferred: Minimum of 1 year related experience. Language Requirements Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
