Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform procurement activities to satisfy current and anticipated demand. Assess existing orders to determine expediting or de‑expediting actions. Place purchase requisitions and vendor purchase orders. Research, assess, and recommend vendors or specific items that meet specifications and quality, pricing, and delivery standards. Monitor quality and timeliness of supplied products; coordinate returns or replacements as needed. Follow‑up on order status with vendors and communicate progress to customers. Resolve vendor issues related to timeliness and product quality. Maintain and cultivate relationships with suppliers, vendors, and assigned customers. Research and resolve account payables nonconformance with suppliers. Identify opportunities for customer cost savings and document results. Follow all Vallen and customer Standard Operating Procedures. Adhere to operating practices; maintain a professional, clean, and neat worksite. Perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of procurement experience preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Computer skills and aptitude for learning ERP and inventory management applications. Self‑starter with ability to work independently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with MS Office. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to learn. Work Environment & Physical Demands Long periods working on a computer with repetitive key‑boarding. Potential exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold in a manufacturing environment. Safety protection may be required in the customer’s facility. Overtime hours may be required on short notice. Regularly required to talk and hear; frequently sit; occasionally stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs. Requires close vision and color distinction.
