Registered Nurse - General Surgery

Location: Asheville, NC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our General Surgery unit. The ideal candidate will possess telemetry competency and be capable of managing a patient load of 6-7, depending on the shift. Experience in urology and bowel care is essential, as these are key patient populations in the unit.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients using telemetry.
• Administer PCA and TPN as needed.
• Manage wound vacs, tube feeds, and urinary catheters.
• Perform care related to colostomies and urostomies.
• Assist with various surgical procedures, including but not limited to cholecystectomies, appendectomies, and hysterectomies.
• Maintain effective communication with the interdisciplinary team, including charge nurses, unit secretaries, providers, and CNAs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license and BLS certification.
• Telemetry competency.
• Experience in urology and bowel care preferred.
