Exciting Opportunity for Stepdown RN - Night Shift!

Job Description:


- Position: Stepdown RN
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (0630-1900, 1830-0700)
- Unit Capacity: 22 Beds
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Common Diagnoses: Heart failure, A-fib, respiratory distress, stroke
- Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Exam Requirement: Pass/Fail open book skills exam during orientation (90% to pass)
- Orientation: 1 shift (12 hours) in the department
- Charge Nurse: Yes, takes a full patient assignment
- Support Staff: Patient care techs (1:10 ratio)
- Equipment Utilization: Troubleshoot CPAP as needed
- Monitoring: RNs required to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: 1 major holiday, 1 minor holiday
- Floating Requirement: May float to ICU if appropriate and has experience
- Work Environment: Fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges
- Attributes for Success: Positive attitude, teamwork-oriented, patient-focused

Additional Notes:


- Radius Rule: 50 miles. Candidates must not have any full-time, part-time, or PRN roles with any facility associated within the past year.
- RTO Policy: Required upfront; no additional RTO will be approved after submission.
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments, 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks.
- Charting System: EPIC
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Length: 126 weeks
