Job Description:


- Position: PCU RN, 4th Floor East Wing
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM)
- Unit Type: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Number of Beds: 55
- Patient Population: Primarily adults, including rare pediatric cases (15 years and older)

Key Responsibilities:


- Provide exceptional patient care, focusing on:
- CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident)
- TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack)
- Shortness of breath
- COVID-19 related cases
- Subdural hematoma
- General weakness
- Manage drips and medications including:
- PCA pumps for pain management
- Cardizem
- Insulin

Team Environment:


- RN Ratio: 1:4 on both days and nights
- Collaborative unit with support staff including:
- Educator
- Care Managers
- Social Workers
- Dieticians
- Physical Therapists (PT)
- Occupational Therapists (OT)

Requirements:


- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with telemetry and EMR: EPIC
- No clinical involvement during manager interview

Unit Challenges & Support:


- Regular hourly rounding and responsiveness
- Staff support with a tight-knit group committed to collaboration
- Opportunities to float to Medical-Surgical areas depending on need

Additional Information:


- Scrub Color: Navy Blue for RN, Ceil Blue for CNA
- E/O Weekend requirement for shifts
- Cancellation policy: Up to 4 shifts can be canceled per 13-week assignment
