Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Join a team of imaging professionals supporting Memorial Healthcare System's six acute care hospitals. Work side by side with department staff across multiple facilities, delivering high-quality care where it's needed most. As part of the District Float Pool, you'll contribute to a system that includes but not limited to: Memorial Regional Hospital, our flagship Level I trauma center and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, a Magnet recognized leader in pediatric care. Responsibilities:

• Assists in decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instruments in sterile processing.
• Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations.
• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments.
• Assists nurse with patient care. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.

Education and Certification Requirements:

• Accredited Program: Surgical Technologist (Required)
• BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
• BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
• BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)

Additional Job Information:

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years' of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
