BoujieMana is a full-service restaurant in central San Diego serving both the surrounding neighborhood and the internal TCWGlobal community. The restaurant offers an elevated, yet approachable dining experience focused on quality and hospitality.

The space includes a full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, a private VIP room, and a training and event center for up to 120 guests. BoujieMana serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using high-quality ingredients at a higher-end price point while remaining accessible.

With strong evening and weekend traffic and convenient parking, BoujieMana operates as both a neighborhood destination and an event-driven hospitality space. We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic Bartender with excellent communication skills to prepare and serve high quality beverages for our guests. This individual's service will prove to be timely, accurate, and friendly. The bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, and recommend menu items. They will ensure the utilization of proper equipment and ingredients, as well as handle basic stocking and cleaning duties. To succeed as a bartender, you should have an engaging, friendly personality; be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable. Each bartender's primary objective is to show our guests a marvelous time, enticing them to return to BoujieMana time and time again.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of BoujieMana
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with BoujieMana's standard drink recipes
• Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change if necessary
• Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages
• Take food and beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests seated at the bar
• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks
• Serve snacks or food items to guests seated at the bar
• Record drink orders into the register system accurately and immediately after having received
• Balance cash receipts
• Attempt to limit problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis/other transportation for intoxicated guests
• Clean and sterilize glasses, utensils, and other bar equipment
• Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and additional related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins, or straws
• Clean and reset bars, work areas, and tables
• Slice and pit fruit and prepare other garnishes for drinks
• Arrange, display, and maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
• Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the assistant manager
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvement
• Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant

Tools and Technology:

• Cash registers, POS software and terminals, and workstations
• Credit card processing machines
• Personal computers, tablets, smart phones and/or handheld devices
• Software - Office suite, back-office accounting, route planning, web-based applications, etc.
• Office equipment - fax machine, printers, phone systems, bar code reader
• Carbonated beverage dispenser (draught foam control devices, electronic beer line maintenance equipment, refrigerated liquid recirculation equipment, soda dispensers)
• Cocktail shakers or accessories (3-piece and 4-piece cocktail shakers, pour spouts, spirit measures)
• Commercial use blenders, graters, cutlery, dishwashers, juicers, mixers, strainers (4-prong strainers, cocktail strainers, Hawthorn strainers, julep strainers)
• Domestic mist or trigger sprayers (martini misters)
• Ice shaver machines or accessories (ice chippers, ice crushers, ice flakers)
• Non-carbonated beverage dispenser
• Slush and frozen drink machines

Qualifications & Skills:

• 2 years of experience in a bar or similar environment
• Must be 21 years of age
• Valid Food Handler's Card
• Valid Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Alcohol Training certificate
• Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, champagne, and mixed cocktails
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Basic math and computer skills
• Strong task and time management abilities
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance
