EHS Manager

We’re seeking a dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead our Global WHS Program implementation, combine hands‑on safety management with strategic thinking, protect our most valuable asset – our people, and drive safety initiatives that make a real difference. The role bridges the gap between safety requirements and operational success, requiring both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, and involves driving safety compliance, conducting site audits, analyzing incident trends, managing first‑aid and emergency response capabilities, and transforming safety data into actionable insights. Core Impact Areas Safety Leadership & Innovation Transform safety culture through leadership and innovative solutions, drive continuous improvement initiatives, leverage technology and data analytics for preventive measures, develop leadership plans, communicate expectations, and measure performance against WHS policies. Strategic Partnership & Influence Build partnerships with Operations leadership, integrate safety into every aspect of the business, influence positive change through compelling data analysis, serve as a trusted advisor balancing safety excellence with operational demands, and oversee record‑keeping, workplace organization, and WHS training programs. This position requires the flexibility to travel 50‑70% of the time and work various shifts. Additional Job Elements Include Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach Stand or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts Work in an environment where the noise level varies Work in an environment subject to variable temperatures and weather (delivery stations include outside loading departments) Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs) Maintain effective care delivery in emergencies and assist emergency response at the site For those that do not have an adult First Aid, CPR, AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, certification must be obtained within 3 weeks of start date. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management, or 2+ years of Amazon Safety (blue badge/FTE) experience Preferred Qualifications Distribution Center or manufacturing safety experience with a mix of exempt and non‑exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people preferred Master’s degree preferred Experience in a fast‑paced, changing/growing organization Certified Safety Professional preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort collaborating with site leaders Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem‑solving ability Ability to adapt well to fast‑paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy Proficient in Microsoft Office and the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics Ability to manage multiple sites/remotely Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base salary range for this position is USD 56,700.00 – 85,100.00 annually (United States, LA, Monroe).
